(1) There is no effective treatment for pityriasis rosea, except that patients who experience severe pruritus may benefit from topical corticosteroids and oral antihistamines.(2) The most common symptom in urticaria pigmentosa is pruritus , which may be treated with [H.sub.1] receptor antagonists.(3) Latex allergic reactions range from pruritus to erythematous, weeping lesions.(4) Liver transplantation may be considered in response to liver failure, or if the patient has uncontrollable pruritus or severe osteoporosis.(5) When the lesions are rubbed, they manifest erythema, edema, pruritus , and occasional bullae formation.(6) Urticaria, or u2018hives,u2019 is characterized by pruritic , white or erythematous, nonpitting edematous plaques.(7) Urticaria is characterized by pruritic , edematous, well-circumscribed, erythematous plaques that are transient over several hours.(8) On re-exposure, patients develop an acute, pruritic , eczematous dermatitis, often with blisters in a linear configuration at the site of contact.(9) Allergic forms usually present acutely with erythematous, pruritic , edematous and exudative lesions, while contact dermatitis often has a more insidious onset with lichenification.(10) An area of local edema becomes a pruritic macule or papule, which enlarges and ulcerates after one to two days.
